Much in demand across the United States and Canada, pops conductor Michael Krajewski delights concertgoers with his imaginative and entertaining programs and his wry sense of humor. Audiences who attend his concerts leave smiling, remembering the evening’s music and surprises.

Michael serves as principal pops conductor of the Houston, New Mexico and Jacksonville symphonies and is conductor of the New Hampshire Music Festival pops concert series. He also enjoys a special relationship with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, with which he makes regular appearances.

As a guest conductor he has performed with the Boston Pops and the Hollywood Bowl orchestras and has appeared with numerous orchestras across the United States including those of  San Francisco, Detroit, Minnesota, St. Louis, Baltimore, Phoenix, Oregon, North Carolina, Rhode Island, Florida, San Antonio, Buffalo, Nashville, Memphis, Long Beach, Wichita and many more. In Canada he has led Ottawa’s National Arts Centre Orchestra and the Edmonton Symphony. He will make his debut with the Winnipeg Symphony during the 2007-2008 season. Other debuts in the ‘07-‘08 season include the Hong Kong Philharmonic and the Dallas, Rochester, Charlotte, Greensboro and Alabama symphonies.

Michael has performed with an eclectic group of artists including James Galway, Marilyn Horne, Alicia de Larrocha, Roberta Flack, Judy Collins, Art Garfunkel, Doc Severinsen, Al Hirt, Cab Calloway, the Kingston Trio, Ben E. King, Mary Wilson, Patti Austin, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, the Canadian Brass, Pink Martini and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.

With degrees from Wayne State University in Detroit and the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, Michael furthered his training at the Pierre Monteux Domaine School for Conductors. He was a Dorati Fellowship Conductor with the Detroit Symphony and later served as that orchestra’s assistant conductor. He was resident conductor of the Florida Symphony and for eleven years served as music director of the Modesto Symphony Orchestra.

Michael lives in Orlando, Florida with his wife Darcy.
